SASGOG’s Pearls of Exxcellence

The Pearls of Exxcellence were started by the Foundation for Exxcellence in Women’s Health, Inc. in 2008 to provide guidance to residents and practicing OBGYN’s on challenging cases and clinical questions. The overall goal of the Pearls of Exxcellence has been to improve women’s lives through better health care, by providing a brief but focused review to help practitioners in these areas.  The articles also have helped countless thousands of physicians in managing challenging scenarios. 

As both the needs of our profession, as well as the library itself grew and evolved, SASGOG, as the leading organization for academic specialists in Ob/GYN, became the integral partner of the Exxcellence Foundation.  Combining a wide talent base and a broad range of expertise across our specialty, SASGOG is uniquely positioned to assemble and coordinate the extremely talented authors, mentors, and dedicated members of SASGOG's Pearls-Publications Committee who develop and continuously review our content. 

In 2019, The Foundation for Exxcellence in Women’s Health ceased operations.  Recognizing the Pearls of Exxcellence program as an important and necessary resource, arrangements were made to transfer the Pearls program to SASGOG so that they may continue the legacy.  The transfer was further supported by a grant to help ensure its success. 

SASGOG is grateful to be able to continue the tradition of Exxcellence and thus improve the quality of lives everywhere.  We hope you will find our content timely and useful, and available in formats that fit our busy lives.
