Dr. Kevin Schuler Receives 2018 Exxcellence Award

March 4, 2018 - Dr. Kevin Schuler has been awarded the 2018 Exxcellence Award from the Foundation for Exxcellence in Women's Health, Inc. for his abstract entitled "Describing Surgical Skill Learning Curves in OBGYN Residency: A Process Using myTIPreport.  The award was presented at the 2018 CROEG & APGO Annual Meeting in National Harbor, Maryland.  The work, completed under faculty advisor Nancy Gaba MD, was co-authored by Erin Maetzold, MD, Elizabeth Buys, MD, Shelley Galvin and AnnaMarie Connolly, MD.

Mr. Jeff Nations, Chief Administrative Officer for the Foundation for Exxcellence in Women's Health, Inc., applauded the work saying:  "Dr. Schuler's abstract confirms myTIPreport may allow faculty to move beyond traditional volume-based procedural metrics in assessing learner performance and establish learning curves, and can eventually allow for earlier identification and remediation of at-risk learners".

Dr. Schuler is a Gynecologic Oncologist at Tristate Gynecologic Oncology in Cincinnatti, OH, where he is also Assistant Residency Program Director.  Dr. Schuler completed his MD degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY. He completed his residency training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC, and his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC.
